Kara Welch, a harpist from the Baltimore area, has been playing music for over 20 years. Her love for classical music traces back to her childhood, where she found inspiration in symphonic video game soundtracks. Today, she enjoys playing music in solo settings to set the ambiance of events as well as orchestral work. Highlights of Kara’s career include playing at venues such as The Kennedy Center, Washington National Cathedral, the Howard Theater, the Capital One Hall, and more.

As the principal harpist for the Washington Metropolitan Gamer Symphony Orchestra (WMGSO), Kara shares her love for video game music, contributing to the orchestra's mission of making classical music accessible through affordable concerts in the D.C. area.
