Kara Welch is a harpist from the Baltimore area and has been playing music for over 20 years. She developed a love for classical music as a kid where she discovered the harp first from symphonic video game soundtracks. Today, she enjoys playing music orchestral music and alongside several chamber groups. Highlights of Kara’s career include playing at venues such as The Kennedy Center, Washington National Cathedral, the Howard Theater, the Capital One Hall, and more.

As the principal harpist for the Washington Metropolitan Gamer Symphony Orchestra (WMGSO), Kara shares her love for video game music, contributing to the orchestra's mission of making classical music accessible through affordable concerts in the D.C. area.
